English Nite 2011: My Name is Sinderella and I Hate My Stepsisters

So, this one is an event that created by folks in EDSA (English Department Students' Association) of Universitas Airlangga. Actually, the event held on December15, 2011. This is my one, two, or hundred times to see drama or play since I've been here. I mean, I wasn't so familiar with this kind of stuffs when I was in senior high. This is also my second time to see the 'real' play that not part of final project. First drama I've seen is Romeo and Juliet that played at Medieval Night of EDSA, a year ago. Actually, we have drama in our course, I've ever take part in a play of Galileo last semester, and for the next project, I will be the doctor in a play of Rita Dove's called The Darker Face of The Earth which talks about discrimination of black slave in a plantation of Southern America. We're on exercise for it, yeah! It's for a week ahead.

Back to this play. Well, talking about Cinderella, we always relate her as a weak girl that opressed by her stepmother and stepsisters, then waiting for a prince charming to come. Yeah, that would be the things come up in your mind, when we're talking about Cinderella. But, don't judge it, before you see it! This is totally a breaktrough from those kinds of 'Cinderella Stories'. Why? Because the Sinderella here is kind of antagonist character that really really hate her stepsisters and not quite afraid to has a quarrelsome with her stepsisters. Basically, it because of she needs attention that has been lost after the coming of her stepmother and stepsisters to the house. Then, she really want to get the boy. Umm, she's kinda depicted as the one that never want to loose what she really really want and do everything for it. And, yes! She kills her stepsister finally because of the jealousy. I don't know, why I really like this 'Cinderella'. :)

Bravo for the committee that arranged the event like for months, and being crazy when the days are approached nearer to the show. Thank you for everyone who have been supported us, during the preparation until the execution. Last, for Mbak Pristi Rininta, as the chief, hehe.. sorry for broke your bottle, hehe.. EDSA, is Our Home! :3

The Trees & The Wild Live @Indie Clothing Expo

Semacam itulah. Awalnya aku berharap mereka nyanyi The Noble Savage, ama Fight to the Future yang mana jadi best track versiku. Tapi ternyata mereka nyanyi Berlin dan Malino, tentu saja dengan sentuhan manis Irish Girl di akhir performance mereka, bener-bener powerful banget. Belum seberapa puas sih, literally. Tapi bener-bener mengabulkan doaku buat nonton mereka secara live di Surabaya! Apalagi bocah Cilacap tadi teriak kaget waktu mas Remedy baru keluar menampakkan wajahnya. Nice gig!
